Hmm, where to begin...

In a small, backwoods trailer in Hannibal, MO, on a dark and stormy night, the hell hounds sounded out the call of things to come. (OK, it was really at the hospital, and the nurse just said "EEK!", but that sounds SO mundane...)

I got hooked on computers only 5 years ago, building up my first computer myself (yeah, yeah, with help). I can still remember asking that all important question: "Where's the on switch". Today, I'm doing web and graphic design, running 14 domains (www.intofocus.com, www.lexxathon.com, and www.paddedcell.org to name a few), keeping up a home network of 14 PC's and servers, and still asking, "Where's the switch?"

Oh, I wish that part was a joke...

I've always loved sci-fi and fantasy. Ambersky got me hooked up with the Lexxian crowd, (among several other bad habits that I'm still proud of!) At UnCon 2000, I was astounded. I hadn't gone to any US conventions in a long time, being totally offended by the commercial tangent they had veered off on during the 80's. Salter Street Studios had a "big happy family" feel to them, and were nothing like the US mega-studios. They were open, friendly, and fun! (US cons need to take a serious lesson here!) Everyone was open and had lots of stories to tell. But the shining example of Halifax's grace and beauty was Patty, who has rightfully been awarded the title of "Science fiction's nicest person". We've enjoyed all the work and joy that Brian, Patty, Lex, Brian, Rolf, Xenia and all their friends at Salter Street have brought us.

Thanks, Brian!

(Yeah, and we're waitin' for a sequel, guys!!!)

James
